Terms and Conditions applicable before 11th May 2021

$10 per month Broadband Discount Terms & Conditions - valid from 17 December 2020

  1. Who is eligible: You are eligible if (1) you already have a Skinny 4-weekly rollover $16, $26, $36, $46 or $66 plan or 4-weekly Endless $36, $46, $70 plan and (2) you join on a Skinny wireless broadband $45, $55 or $65 plan. You must have both plans active on your wireless broadband bill date to get this offer. 
  2. What do you get: Eligible customers get a $10 discount on their wireless broadband plan cost, on their bill date.
  3. You must renew your mobile plan: To be eligible for this offer, you must have an active eligible mobile plan on the date of your wireless broadband bill date. If you don’t, you will not receive the $10 discount for that entire billing cycle. If you purchase or renew an eligible mobile plan during the following month, you will not get a part discount or rebate.  If you switch mobile provider or move to an ineligible plan (even if you’re doing so because of a change we’ve made to your disadvantage), you will lose your $10 discount.
  4. Only one discount per account: If you have multiple plans with us, you won’t get an additional $10 discount.
  5. How long does the offer run for: This offer runs from 17 December. 
  6. When activating your modem after you receive it: Make sure you use the email address you used when signing up to the broadband plan, when you’re asked to log in. If you don’t use this email address you won’t receive your $10 per month discount.

Promotional offers available to Skinny Mobile customers in New Zealand will not apply when using the roaming service unless they are specifically related to roaming.

Wireless Broadband Offer Summary

SERVICE OVERVIEW

Skinny Wireless Broadband is a fast broadband service for residential customers in urban areas.

It connects your home to our network via a 4G wireless connection to your house. That means the throughput on your connection should be higher than ADSL broadband.

Skinny Broadband runs on the Spark 4G network.

Skinny Wireless 4G Broadband is broadband only. You don't get a landline or phone number.

AVAILABILITY

Skinny Wireless 4G Broadband is only available in certain areas within the Spark 4G coverage area.

ADDITIONAL DATA CHARGES

If you reach your monthly data cap, you have two options:
  1. Purchase an extra 10GB of data for $20.
  2. Cancel your current Monthly Plan and purchase the Plan again.

SET UP CHARGES

  1. There are no set up charges other than the $99 for the modem.
  2. The modem can only be delivered to a New Zealand address and delivery is free of charge.

OTHER INFORMATION

Minimum Contract Period
  • Skinny Wireless 4G Broadband is prepaid so you can cancel the service any time.
Early Termination Fee
  • There is no cancellation fee if you stop using Skinny Broadband.
Notice Period
  • There is no notice period if you want to cancel your broadband service.
Other Requirements
  • None!
Traffic Management
  • We reserve the right to manage traffic at peak times, to ensure all customers get the best possible experience even at busy times. Overall, this should have a positive benefit for our customers. If we make any changes to this policy which will have a material impact on you we will let you know.
Fair Use
  • So that we can manage network traffic, we have a fair use policy on our Uncapped plan. This means you cannot use the service in a way that is overly excessive or unreasonable. See the Uncapped Wireless Terms for more information
Effects On Other Services
  • Skinny Broadband does not include landline or phone number.
  • Services such as medic alerts, monitored home alarms, faxes, interactive features of SKY digital or PABXs are incompatible.
  • Skinny Broadband is not a static IP address so it can't be used as a gateway server or for hosting particular games.
  • Skinny Broadband can't do VOIP.
Other Charges
  • There are no additional charges for Skinny Broadband.
Disputes
  • Skinny Mobile, part of the Spark Group, is a member of the Telecommunication Dispute Resolution Scheme.
  • All prices include GST.

These terms and conditions apply in addition to our Fixed Line Terms and Conditions, and any other specific terms and conditions applying to your Skinny Fixed Line Broadband

Access type

We will offer you the best connection type (ADSL < VDSL < UFB) available at your address. Where UFB is available, we'll offer all the UFB speed options available through Skinny Fixed Line.

Skinny Fixed Line Broadband is not available in all areas. Occasionally factors like the distance of our equipment from a particular site or address mean we are unable to deliver Skinny Fixed Line Broadband, even where Skinny Fixed Line Broadband is available in your area, however we'll let you know if this is the case

Charging

Charging for Skinny Fixed Line Broadband is on a monthly prepaid basis. Your first payment will be taken from your nominated credit or debit card on the day of your connection in accordance with the plan you have signed up with, and on the same date every month

If you sign up to a Skinny Fixed Line Broadband 12 month plan your monthly Plan charge will be:

  • $73 per month for Unlimited ADSL, Unlimited VDSL and Unlimited Fibre 30
  • $78 per month for Unlimited Fibre 100 (not available to Canterbury customers connected to the Enable Fibre network)
  • $88 per month for Unlimited Fibre 200
  • $98 per month for Unlimited Fibre Ultra

Canterbury customers connected to the Enable Fibre network:

  • $78 per month for Unlimited Fibre 200

Notice period (termination)

If you end your plan at any time before your next monthly billing due date you will be responsible for any charges incurred prior to that billing date and any early termination or plan transfers fees outlined below

At the end of your 12 month contract period, you will automatically be transferred to the Skinny Fixed Line month to month plan at the price current as at the end of the contract

Early Termination Fee

An early termination charge of $199 applies if you leave or move from the Fixed Line Broadband Plan before the end of the term. For purposes of clarity this also includes transferring to any other Skinny Broadband plan. The fee will be charged directly to your credit card.

Plan Transfer Fee

A plan transfer fee of $199 applies if plan transfer from Skinny Fixed Line Broadband Plan before the end of the term to any other Skinny broadband plan. This will be charged directly to your credit card.

Set Up Charge

There is no set up charge for the Skinny Fixed Line Broadband Plan.

You'll get a free standard connection and a modem on a 12 month plan.

Fair Use

We don't run a Fair Use Policy on any of our Skinny Fixed Line Broadband plans.

Traffic Management

No traffic management policies apply on Skinny Fixed Line Broadband.

Speed Disclaimer

The ADSL, VDSL and Fibre speeds on Skinny Fixed Line Broadband represent theoretical maximums and are subject to a large number of real-world factors, many outside of Skinny’s control, which may affect performance.

Effects On Other Services

Your broadband service requires mains power to operate. If power is not available (e.g. during an outage), your Skinny Fixed Line Broadband Service may stop working.

This service does not come with a phone line. This means that services that use a landline phone line, such as some medical alerts, monitored home alarms, faxes, the interactive features of SKY digital or PABXs are incompatible with Skinny Fixed Line Broadband.

Overdue Collections

We reserve the right to charge you for the reasonable costs we incur in the enforcement of any rights contained in this Agreement, including any reasonable legal fees or reasonable costs incurred to collect any overdue Charges from you. These costs are payable on demand.
