Bring your own phone

Will my current mobile work on Skinny?

Love your current mobile?

Good news - you can bring it with you when you join Skinny. If you bought your mobile from us or Spark it will work fine. Before you buy a SIM we can run a quick check to see if your mobile should work on the network, just enter your IMEI below. You can find it by dialing *#06# on most phones or look for it on the label in the battery compartment, or on the box the phone came in.

The information in our compatibility checker is indicative only, and doesn't guarantee that your device will connect to the network. Check your phone or device specifications to ensure it is compatible.

On most mobiles, you can get the 15 digit IMEI number just by dialing *#06#

Please be aware that some services may be different or unavailable with a device that wasn't purchased from Skinny, also please make sure your device is unlocked. The 3G WCDMA (UMTS) network uses the HSDPA 850 MHz and HSDPA 2100 MHz frequencies. Unless your phone is compatible with HSDPA 850 MHz, it's unlikely to work fully on the network.

Keep your number

Switching in 4 simple steps

  1. Buy a Skinny SIM.
  2. Dial 456 to activate it.
  3. Sign Up for an online account
  4. Submit a Keep my number request.

Currently on Prepay?

You'll need to provide us with your SIM serial number printed on the back of your old SIM card. This is typically 16 to 17 digits long depending on your previous mobile carrier.

Currently on Account?

You'll need to provide us with your account number found on your monthly bill. Please ensure your old account is still active when submitting your request. Once the number transfer has been completed you'll need to contact your previous mobile carrier to close your account down.
