How to factory reset your phone

Factory resetting your phone will restore it to its out-of-the-box settings.

Note: A factory reset will delete your personal data and settings — including contacts and photos. To prevent data loss, make a back up of your device before you do a factory reset. If you want to preserve the data stored on your SD card, remove the SD card from your phone.

Step 1:

From the home screen, swipe up on your screen.

Step 2:

Tap Settings.

Step 3:

Tap System.

Step 4:

Tap Advanced.

Step 5:

Tap Reset options.

Step 6:

Tap Erase all data (factory reset).

Step 7:

Tap Delete all data.

Step 8:

Tap Delete all data.

All data and settings saved on your device will be deleted.

After your phone has been reset, you might have to reconfigure certain settings, such as the date and time, Wi-Fi, and your email account.
